That wiring around the battery is either engine harness (runs across the crossbrace to the radiator) or headlights (run behind the battery into the fender). Neither have a bearing on the DIC itself, which has all it's wiring inside the dash.
Try reseting it with the DIC button and see if it corrects itself.
