well this morning and today i was driving my car home from school... and i noticed that when i sit at a stop sign my car almost dies when i press the gas pedal

It's like i pull up to the stop sign or light, release my brake and press on the gas and it wont move or it will slightly die and then the rpms raise really quickly to where they should be and the car jerks forward...

i dont know what it could be... any thoughts

SES light on at all? Could be a number of things, 02, IAC, etc...

Could be a bad spot in the TPS switch, or maybe the MAF needs cleaning...do you know anyone with a scanner?

Could also be a battery issue (alternator at idle isn't charging enough to compensate for a weak battery).

Well, that could also mean the alternator is going out. hey just a heads up also, I don't want to jump to conclusions or get you too excited, but I had that same problem with a '95 Beretta. it ended being the head gasket. Like I said, I don't want to jump to conclusions, I am just speaking from experience. Like my friend always use to say, start with the cheapest fix and move on from there.

Does it get better when the car is warmed up?

My car does it too. Kinda of scary sometimes cause it will bog down real bad when I need it to *not* bog down.

But it's kinda like a slight hesitation right?

And you can kind of jab the throttle a little bit and force it to die down too right?

Vaccuum leak? I know that is usually for older carburated engines but I have seen it in F/I ones too

ya kinda like what lonezergling said... when i kinda jab the throttle it will sometimes die... it only does it a few times... SES light was on and it's p0125 or p1025 for something dealing with the coolant... i used to have p1028 or 0128 but now it's 1025 or w/e...

i was thinking alternator also... i dont really know if it does it once the car's warmed up cuz i havent really driven it other than back and forth to school and work and those are about 5 min away...

My 93 cutlass had this problem! I believe all we did was change the spark plugs, and a few other typical things. Apparently the gaps were wayyy off. I'm not sure of the actuall thing that solved it, I'll ask my dad and get back to you.
Whenever i stopped, i had to touch the gas soooo slow and gradually, and it would jerk me back. And if i hit the gas just alittle too hard, the rpms would drop far enough to stall. Is this what happens to you?

What about your LIM gaskets, didn't you say they needed replacing. Maybe vac leak there.
