I park next by 04+ grand prix GXP. It is purple car V8 faster than all 3800 engine. lol

Anyway, I looked at rotor and brake. It look nice. I wonder will it fit for our 97-03 model? Reason why? I'm getting 18" wheels next Spring 2009. I heard that some of them need big rotor to slow the car down instead stock rotor because of big wheels. Is that true? Just want safe reason.

Thanks.

Guess you haven't heard about the exorbenant amount of torque limiting programmed into the pcm.

I'm not 100% positive but I would imagine the brakes on the GXP are the same rotors and such found on the Impalas and such that the 12" upgrade rotors and brackets come from.

Ohh and Palsut until you have somethign under the hood that will outperform a 3800 I suggest you lay off the 3800 bashing. Besides wasn't the 3400 phase out the 3100 (not in GPs cause they're dinosaurs)long before the rest of GM phased out the 3800? lol

All guys bragging that 3800 engine going beat my car. Now, it is my turn to bash for GXP. I will bet my money on GXP whip 97-03 model. We need find member for GXP vs. 97-03 model for drag race to see who win lol

Anyway thank for tip. I just saw wheel thread from clubgp like 18" 19" and 20" wheel thread. I saw 20" wheel with stock rotor. Damn that's sooo tiny rotor with huge wheel lol I guess it is safe to have stock rotor with 18" wheel? If not then I take it out and save for winter beater when it is getting bad shape in future.

Palsut you just continue to cross the line an never have your facts right,I will gladly race a GXP of your choice even for pink slips!! The 3800 is the engine of choice on our site you do'nt see me coming here and comparing my GTO LS1 to the 3800 ,if you do'nt like that you have a Grand Am motor change it or drop the subject if you can't do that maybe best you move to a site that deals with the 60deg v6.

palsut i dont think you realize that any car can beat anything with the right amount of work into it. The 3800 engines are an extremely durable engine and with the right amount of care(like all of us give) they can outlast your TINY 3100 any given day! i know this is off topic but you really need to stop bashing or like chico said go find a different site.

If you plan on running bigger wheels & brakes, you'll also need more power to get things rolling, due to increased rotational mass. You might want to consider a power adder of some sort, just to balance things out... hammer wink

That green grease is your cv joint boot. You'll need to get that fixed asap before your cv joint fails.
