I have a 2003 Grand Prix SE that when I shift the transmission into drive, it kills the engine. Other gears work fine. A mechanic told me it might be a faulty converter solenoid. Does it sound right, and if so, where is it located? banghead

Welcome aboard! It's inside the transaxle, on the driver's side: 4T65E Autotransaxle Solenoids \'97-\'03 Grand Prix (TCC/PWM)

Do you know what this job entails? Is a costly repair? Thanks for all of your help!
