OK, I have a stupid question. I have a 2000 GP GT. Last GP was a 99 SE with manual controls.

The 2000 has dual climate digital controls. It doesn't say "A/C" anywhere on the controls. It has "AUTO" "RECIRC" "ECONOMY", etc, but NO A/C Whats the deal???

Call me dumb, but I'm clueless, lol

Post pics of the different HVAC controls if possible.

Here's mine, from last January when my tensioner pulley decided to crap out on me, stranding me at night. That was the temp the following day...

Ok, now I know. But does anyone know why they used economy instead of AC?

Don't know but I have to look at the little light in the swithc to know when the AC is on.

I never use the auto feature unless I'm on a cross country run.

I only use the auto feature in the winter since it won't start blowing air until the car is warmed up, I don't like cold air being blown at me. I almost never use the A/C, about the only time is in the summer when it's raining but sometimes I'll use recirculation if I don't feel like wasting gas.

I don't know what kind of driving you do greenGt but if you drive somewhere in the neighbourhood of 45mph and faster with your windows down the drag created actually uses more gas than your air conditioner would

I do mostly city driving, the fastest being 50mph in a 45 zone so I almost always drive with the windows down. When I'm on the highway I'll either crack the windows if it's really hot or just drive with the fan on if it's cooler. I really just do not like driving with the A/C at all, not just because of the gas mileage but how it robs power from the motor too.

SO, if I swap out mine with the unit with "AC" on it, will the AC come ON when I push the button?
In other words, will it be backwards from the one I have now? Is the inside wiring different? Or will I have an ass backwards unit? Push AC (light on) to turn off the AC?

Am I making sense here?
