Well guys I bit the bullet and bought a
new MAF Sensor at Auto Zone for my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT regular 3800 motor 70k miles.
I installed the new sensor and the check
engine light stayed off for 6 days which included
a 3 hour drive one way. Anyway on day 7 the light
came back on but today it went off again??
What could be the problem???????????

The SES light could be for a different DTC other than the MAF sensor.

Get it scanned.

Some conditions that can cause a PO 102 are:

Poor connections at the PCM or MAF Sensor

MAF sensor wiring harness damaged, or routed too close to spark plug wires

Plugged up air filter, air intake duct or objects blocking the MAF sensor inlet screen

Vacuum leaks at throttle body, intake manifold, EGR valve flange or pipes

PCV Valve faulty, missing or incorrectly installed
