My horn stopped working and I found the fuse blown. Replaced the fuse a few times and it keeps blowing fuses. Would a bad horn cause this problem or is this an electrical/wiring problem?

Check for a wire chafing.

Here's a diagram of the horn circuit:

Hope that helps!

I'm thinking the horn itself might be shorting out. The sound has been getting weaker and weaker over the past month. All the wiring and connections look good without getting into the steering column.

Has anyone bought an aftermarket horn? Do they sound the same as factory? The two AC Delco horns are about $100 and NAPA is $30 so what's the catch? Do you get what you pay for when buying a horn? Knowing my luck the aftermarket horn will sound like a wimpy clown horn shocked .

Have you tried Rock Auto for the AC Delco horns? They have the A and F note horns for $35.79 each, and a few lower priced ones as well.

For discount codes: RetailMeNot

And ShopGMParts lists both horns as a kit for 98-03 for $39.54. Might be worth checking out.

Thought I would update in case someone else has the same problem someday. The horn was bad and I bought the AC Delco (it's a kit that includes some wiring and connections too). The horn tone sounds close to the original.

Thanks Blackarrow98GP...I printed out the Rock Auto pricing and my local AC Delco dealer price matched it.

You're welcome, and I'm glad to hear it's fixed, without costing you $100. For that price the horns should say, "Get the H*** outta my way!" laugh wink
