i have a 97 gtp, in cold weather when running the wipers then i go to turn them off they stop in the upright position. Does anyone know whats causing this and do i have to buy a new wiper motor? thanks!

You might want to check with your local service deptartment. There is/was a recall on the wipers parking in the upright position. I have a '97 and haven't taken my car in for the fix since I've never had a problem with them.

I bought the car used, so I do not have the recall sheet.....can I still get it repaired?

Someone may have more information on this than I, but I believe most (if not all) GM service depts. will record the VIN of a vehicle after performing recall maintenance. They must have some way of tracking what car's have been fixed or not for liability issues. Check with your dealer and see if your recalls been done.
