CATALYTIC CONVERTER was pluged and egr cooling temp thing it cost me a 1000.00 i go to go pick it up tomarrow o i am going to be a happy guy if that the problem

If your converter was plugged woulda been cheaper to install a 3 inch downpipe with a high flow cat. iirc the downpipe is about 300. Nice to see you found the problem. Now to find out why the cat clogged. Car has to run awfully rich for the cat to clog or someone was running leaded fuel or lead additives.

Yeah, what Herc said. You should have gone with a 3" D/P, would have been much cheaper.

BTW... I'm assuming that since your car is a 98, you had more than 50k miles on it, right?
