internet. Gettin confused, Ok with my 97 grand prix gtp, can you just take any 4t65ehd from 97-03 and have it work in place of the one of the thats in the car. Or is it true that you can only use one from a 97 grand prix gtp. I remember reading somewhere that there are bracket problems. Id rather hear it from you guys though. Thanks

97 I thought had vacuum controls instead of electronic controls, could be wrong though.

yes you need one from a 97. The tranny is Vacuum modulated. Not electric.

yeah so what I read was correct, Well that settles it then, instead of lookin around for another tranny to rebuild. Im gonna save this winter from income tax returns, money from ps2, money from other various projects, money from college loan etc, to get my tranny rebuilt from zzperformance next spring with the top of the line tranny rebuild gonna run me close to 4 grand but hey thats life right lol. My car is going to be a PUSHER next summer ahhahhahahhha.

ZZP tranny is good for guys who are going to start moveing up in HP .Frist think about what you are going to be doing to the car before you purchase a $4000 tranny. I would just go with there rebulit one and take a ride and have them put it in. There trannys are good for 13s allday and there are no problems. So think to yourself are you going to mod the car enough to put you in the 11s if so then get there racing tranny. But if you are going to stay ether with what you have or just mod it alittle more go with there standard rebulit tranny. and just to be safe get the upgraded torque converter and they you can do 12s all day in the car with no problems..

Well as my friend matt always tells me why settle for a car part that is half modded. Might as well settle for one that is modded 100% so if gonna travel the 100 miles or so get er all done not just 75% or what not. Im not gonna get one thing modded then 10 years from now say crap well time to rebuild it again because I put too much horsepower under the hood. Yep just time to save money now, i see where you are comin from though.
