does anybody here have an account with carfax? I need a VIN ran on a 40th anniv GP that's FS locally.

If anybody does, LMK and I'll get you the VIN

Thanks!!

you gotta pay for carfax. have you checked it out? You just go on, use your credit card and enter your vin. I made my dealership do it when I bought my car.

Most carfax are package deals for multiple uses... he's wanting someone to run one on theirs if they have spares. The object is to avoid paying. smile

thanks rook, that's exactly what I was looking for. the dealership had an 02 GT 40th anniv edition and I was going to try to trade straight across for my 04 stratus, but they wouldn't do it, and they had a carfax sitting in the glovebox when I went in today. anyway, they have an 05 GXP with 8500 miles that I am going to look at as soon as it gets out of the detailing, inspection, etc this week. maybe I'll then have two GPs in the driveway soon!!

Strats have horrible resell values, so the outcome doesn't surprise me. That and dealerships like to make some money on any transaction.

Good luck with it.

I know, that's why I'm trying to get rid of it while it's value is still relatively decent (right now I can get more for it than I paid for it, so I am seriously looking hard to trade) the stratus retails for approx $1100 more than that GP, but oh well. while I was in looking at the GXP, the 02 was bought, so that's out!!

if you're car shopping you should just get the carfax for yourself and check up on any car you look at. you may find some dealerships only sell post accident used vehicles.

I know I will, but I gotta convince the wifey that it is the more logical buy, since we're not getting rid of the GTP
