So I was going to buy the body kit from joshua forman and my car decided it wanted a new intake manifold gasket. So, yesterday new gasket on I pulled into work and heard a loud clunk. back to shop, entire wheel hub on drivers side and swaybar links are gone, another $350 gone. and now when i open my drivers door, the door catches on the fender and makes the metal on metal noise that makes your skin crawl.

what a day eh?

I didn't hit anything, it was fine when it went to the shop, then when i got it back it was messed up.

I am starting to think that the red car gremlins jumped off my aunt's gt onto my car the other day.

yup so, I got it back today and he said, i don't know how it happened, but we fixed it. I will get u a little touch up paint for the 2" strip of paint gone, really can't see it but i know its there. I didn't have a single dent or scratch in that car.

Can't really bitch at the shop cause they are bout 70percent of our detailing business. Plus, the head mechanics daughter died this morning. Can't be a mean after that.

Everybody else feel free to post rants, i definetly feel a little better. Type out the frustration. lol.

I feel your pain..... I used to have a shop that did all the work on my Blazer. I was very pleased with the rates, and honesty until they hired on one mechanic that they started assigning to my Blazer everytime... Ever since then my rig would come back with something broke, or the fender chipped, whatever..... I approached the shop owner who I still consider an aquaintance and told him that I was going to find another mechanic. I explained why, and he apologized, but had no reason to NOT believe his employee as that person had been working for him for so long with no qualms. I didn't know what to say other than, "It's been a pleasure doing business with you, but I'm going find another shop to work on my rig".
I just wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one that "lets things slide". However there comes a time, and there are limits. I avoid taking my GP to any shop for the fear of having to deal with "I don't know how that could've happened".

My gf's mom took her new passat in a few years back to get something looked at. She came back later on and the mechanics took it out for a test drive. Well they wrecked the car and it was totaled!

The only thing i take my car to a shop for is tranny work... even then, I have a VERY good shop out here that specializes in remanufacturing trannys, i just remove it myself, take it down, and they do a complete rebuild, even dyno it before calling to say its ready, and I get the full dyno print out for the tranny, and put it back in myself.
