Hey,

I haven't been on here in forever, but I'm finally planning on making some mods to my car...I'm going to do the pulley swap, probably to a 3.4" unless you guys suggest different. That size seems to be a popular one.

I found the FAQ section and am planning on doing the Downpipe/CAT/U-bend combo and the CAI. However, I have a question on the PCM...should I get what they have at zzp which is a whole new PCM already programmed, or should I get one of those devices (name?) where you can program the existing PCM?

Also what is the "1 heat range cooler plugs", and can you recommend a scanner, the one I found on zzp is for connecting to a laptop, or is that what most will do? I'll probably also add some kind of gauge pod to monitor my boost, unless the scanner can do that as well. Thanks a lot, and sorry for the novel.

For your purposes, I would order a DHP reprogrammed PCM. They are about the best around and run $100, compared to ZZP's $90, but they're worth the extra $10.

1 heat range cooler plugs means Autolite 605's. 2 ranges colded are Autolite 104s, and 3 is Autolite 103's. Only use copper core plugs, do NOT use platinum.

As for a scanner, I would go with the Aeroforce scan gauge. Easy to monitor and it'll show most any parameter you might need to know.

Thanks Drummer,

Anybody know if I can find the Shift Knob and Harness kit at a junk yard from an older model that I need for my '02 in order to move the shift points? I wonder if the old models shift knobs would fit my car, or if this pfyc shift knob with harness is specifically for my car.

one other thing...any estimates on how much my MPG will drop with these mods? Thanks a lot! I'm getting excited just thinking about this.

Drummer, that Aeroforce gauge looks sweet!

Shift knobs are identical through the years. The only different is a switch made into it and plug hanging out the bottom.

MPG drop will be minimal, pending how heavy your foot is. If anything it should stay the same due to the clearer exhaust.

I have noticed less than 1 mpg decreased fuel economy with all my mods. And that 1 mpg loss is mainly due to things like deleted EGR & cold plugs, not cams and such. It could probably be better if I wasn't on it so much... because the engine is definitely breathing much better.
