With some modding and some new looks coming soon...I thought I would post up a sneak peak.


By the way, this cover is from a 98 GTP, and it was black (with grime). I soaked it over night in HOT water, and I had three different kinds of degreaser around so I poured all three in: Purple Power, Grease Lightning, and Simple Green. The next morning a lite scrubbing and was pretty clean. Then I used some 80 grit sand paper, steel wool, and some 320 grit, and some mineral spirits. Ready to paint!





And I borrowed this pic from the one Chico posted to see if I would like this color scheme on the valve cover. I did, so I paint away! (I photoshopped that valve cover in)

Looks good. I thought about separate colors, but it looked too time consuming. So, I went all red like drummer.

Wasn't long at all, total time, less than two hours. I worked on other projects in the mean time (down time). I couldn't figure out how to do the stripes, until the light bulb came on and some card board fit snug in the grooves. But when I cut the cardboard, its pifurations showed, that is why you see the blue tape, was to cover those pirfurations over.

Looks horrible... :p

looks sweet dude. Tell me, was it difficult to take that cover off? Whats involved in doing so.

Not hard at all, just six bolts holding it on. You may have to remove the coil pack bracket for the front valve cover, but for the most part it's just removing wires and plugs that are in the way.
