hey guys i have a 97 grand prix se non supercharged and while i was out today crusing on may home the cars service engine light came on so when i got home i pulled out my code scanner which game me a code of p0401 which means Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected so what could this mean i hope its nothing big so let me know asap guys thanks alot would appreciate it.

That's an EGR (exhaust gas etc!) valve issue.

Not sure how you would go about troubleshooting what's wrong with it. You could always block it off and disable the codes. laugh

yeah thats what i did after i found out what it was and i erased the code lets hope it doesnt pop up again

Code PO401 can be caused by the EGR valve not working properly, carbon deposits on the valve or EGR passages, blockage in the exhaust system (clogged cat), damaged wire harness/poor connections at PCM or EGR, or vacuum restriction to the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor.
