Hey guys I had my 2002 Grand Prix GT about 2 months now. It has 38k miles. Anyway, I tried to lower the passenger side front window down and it didnt make a sound and didnt move at all. I tried it again at night and still nothing..
Today this morning I tried the window and it worked fine. Whats the problem??
Is it a loose connection??? Or do these windows just stick sometimes??? Has anyone had trouble with their windows???

Might be a battery issue. These cars have a real finiky electrical system. Good luck tracing that issue down.

When you finally catch one, ask a gremlin. Only they know the answer to that ages-old question.

The motor is probably going out and being weird about it while it slowly dies. My old car had a window that would do that until it finally stopped working altogether.

Or there's something wrong with the switches/wiring.

And they don't disclose trade secrets; it's against the Gremlin's Guild rules, and all that stuff... wink

Hi Bill

Nope, you don't have a loose connection ... and Yes the windows DO stick sometimes!

You can do what most everyone else does and replace the assembly, or you can try a simple 'trick' to keep the window from sticking.

Here's what you can try ... it's worked for me for the past 6 years ... When you roll the window up, tap the switch in the DOWN position just enough to barely lower the window ... maybe a 1/16". It won't be enough that you'll have any wind noise, but enough to keep the window from sticking when you try to lower it.

Of couse, YMMV, but if this little trick works for you, it'll save you some money and the window will work properly. thumbsup
