Hey guys,
I am looking into getting rocker arms but I dont know which ones to get. The current mods i have are:
dp w/ high flow cat and ubend
k&n intake
104 plugs
zzp pcm

I was thinking of just going all out to the 1.9 rockers, but then I would need rods and springs that would increase my price range. What would the best option for my GT?

By all sources the er modified stock seem to work best ,for myself I would say get the 1.84 RR from ZZP you would'nt require new springs .Chico(pops)

I would recommend upgraded springs for any rocker ratio over 1.7. You start pushing the limits of the stockers after that and the higher mileage you have the more likely you will need them.

Also, I'd rather just do the whole thing once rather than having to go back in two, three, or more times to install things later when you realize you actually need it. *speaking from personal experience*

I did rocker install 5 times, not soo bad! ROFL
I heard many get by with not upgrading springs. But things like that, valvetrain, I'd like not to buy used and not to skip on, could come back to bite you (just like the mod bug does)!

I've done over 20 rocker swap's for locals ,so let me tell you this while upgrading springs is not a bad idea you are limited with a 97 GT to go to Comp.Cams 105's as LSI springs are'nt recommended for you,now keeping you're shift points to 6k we have found 90% can run up to 1.9 rockers with no valve float above this you're on your own,FYI Ron Vogal the current fastest rockers M-90 car runs modded stockers with stock springs,do'nt get me wrong I do'nt disagree with slick that doing springs is a safeguard and I always check spring set pressure to make they are within specs see this is what causes problems a weak spring being over stressed .Chico(pops)

I was thinking of just doing the spings too just to be safe. I mean it wont hurt, well anything but my pocket that is.

I would go ahead and do springs as well, too, just because I wouldn't want to tear all that stuff down again when I wanted springs a little later on. It doesn't look TOO terribly difficult, especially with someone helping you (other than the demon gasket), but it's just so time consuming.

I know. I slept through it. And woke up, and Slick was STILL working on his car.
