Just got back for Lititz getting my car tuned. We started off with the tune up. I got the PRJ wires and some NGK TR55IX with a stock gap. We then updated the PCM with a DHP file and then went for a drive. Scanned a lil more and then updated some of the timing. In June I'm going back for a 93 octane tune. With the rise of gas prices i've been lazy and been putting 89 in. So we justed tuned for 89 for now. Overall I'm very pleased with how the car runs. On the way home I just needed to test the car and ran it till the needle hit the MPH devileek what a thrill that was, and prob the last time ill do it. Anyone who has not tuned the PCM its a must..... you wont regret it!

New you would love it. Just imagine how much better it could be with some more time in tuning it, better mph and more hp!

Just wondering, are you really seeing any gains from running 89 or 93? I thought they only helped in boosted applications.

When I was N/A I ran 93 oct. all the time even N/A it allows you to be a little more aggresive with your timing.Chico(pops)

x2 with what ordenez said that would just be a waste of money....i on the other hand fill with 93 all the time....and chico where could i get an aggressive tune considering i have plenty of supporting mods and wanna break into the 14's this summer instead of my 15.0 as of right now

you gotta find someone with hp tuners or a powertuner. Or find a dyno shop around with a wideband

It's more involved then just the timing you also play with the fuel tables for proper enrichments etc.

Adjusting timing is almost the last thing you do, that is if everything else is in check or running smoothly without KR. I only have my tuner adjust timing when things are KR free. We've changed it in the past, but now near stock timing.

Instead of buying and dropping a pulley, one suggests timing, if you have a tuner much easier to do then go buy a pulley and swap one on, and you can change it back easier using the tuning software.

If you haven't yet, I suggest reading up on tuning. Here is a thread I post in January:

Gotta do a VE tune first. and get your LTFT's in order. Its a time consuming process
