shouldn't go above 180, hence the 180 tstat. if it gets to 180 the tstat opens and coolant flows.

No weak mix. Because straight water should help it cool better, but it tends to evaporate, hence for a mix.

My guess is you still have air in the system. But you could have purchased a faulty Tstat. I've seen it before.

You probably just have air in the system, you need to bleed it out from that little screw thing.

Unless you changed or reprogrammed your PCM, the cars fan will not turn on until 210 regardless of what thermostat you put in.

So your temps may be correct even with the 180 tstat.

But when the cars cruising down the highway the "ram air" effect moves more air across the radiator then the fans do.

When I had my stock PCM I never saw 210 on my guage and I had the stock Tstat as well. I'm still gonna say air in the system.

He said his car heats up to 210, not that it stayed at 210. If he had air pockets, it would have went higher. Seems completely normal for a stock PCM.

being as how I don't know what his reading was prior to the Tstat. Hard to tell. All I know is mine never saw 210 with the stock pcm and 195 tstat.

before the new t stat at a stand still it never went up that high. moving its fine. i tried to bleed the system and coolant didnt come out. i probably let it cool down too much or something but im gonna attempt it again.

oh and i do have a stock PCM for now

when u bleed it you are sopposed to let the air out untill coolant comes out^. sounds like u have a lot of air. also i know the 98 have the coolant resevoir in a different spot than the 99+. could that be a problem i know theres kits to move it
