My wife owns a 99 GTP. When she bought it, it was lowered with Eibach springs, but they left the stock struts. Now the ride is bouncy and I think the struts are bad. I heard the AGX's are good afx struts, but what else will we need to change the stocks out for the AGX's? I believe we will need new strut mounts, but does anyone have specific part numbers and good places to buy the struts, mounts and whatever else we will need?

Thanks for the help!

You may only need some anti-pogo washers to fix that bounciness. They are only about 20$ but you wont find them at any dealership. You can get them at Overkilled\'s websites. This is taken right from his website, "We highly recommend the addition of 2 Anti-Pogo retainers for the front upper strut mounts. These reduce the pogo effect and create a smoother ride
Price: $19.99 CAD." Those are canadian prices however. I don't know about ZZP or PFYC or WBodystore if they sell them.

Well, this has been going on for several years. It's not a recent development. If feels like the car has no dampening force when going over bumps. It has just gotten so much worse in the last few months.

Struts and strut mounts are all you'll need, technically you don't NEED mounts, but no sense in putting the old worn-out ones back on and causing problems down the road. You'll also need to rent a spring compressor from autozone/napa/etc.

I have read that a lot of people are needing camber bolts as well. Will we need those and where can I get some?

If you're going with KYB's I would highly recommend using KYB strut mounts. I've busted through two pair of strut mounts when I had my KYB's installed. Finally ended up using KYB mounts and I have not had any problems.

eibach springs wont require the use of a spring compressor

(Thread revival)

Alright guys, the car's suspension is getting to the point of unbearably bouncy and rough. I need some more input and help.

I'm not sure which to go with, the GR-2 or AGX. Any advice or recommendations? These will be paired with the Eibach's already on the GTP.

Also, will I or won't I need a spring compressor to do the job? Along those lines, is there a write-up or how-to on replacing the struts on a GP? I've done quite a bit of work on my car in the past, but never really tackled suspension work.

To make sure I've got my chicks in a row, I will need the following:
1. Struts (GR-2 or AGX)
2. Strut mounts
3. Anti-pogo washers

Do you use one anti-pogo washer for each strut mount? Will I need camber bolts and am I missing anything else?

My wife and I are going to visit our parents in 3 weeks, and we would like to get this done before the 1500 mile trip.

if its going on a road trip, i reccomend AGX's. I have eibachs and GR-2's on the car, but have not driven with them yet as the car is under the knife.

Yes you will need a compressor to swap the springs over to the new struts. Start spraying your bolts a few days prior so they come apart easier. I found strut mounts cheapest at summitracing.com or shockwarehouse.com I can't remember. Mine is a daily driver, so I used Monroe Reflex struts. I liked my lowered mustang for about a year, then got sick of speed bumps and the steep driveways at my kids schools and wife's work. I put stock springs back on.
