Well the nylon attaching point for the cable on my window regulator broke. Now the window won't stay up. I had to order a new one. All the local places wanted over $170 (with the earliest delivery of next tuesday). The stealership wanted $400!!!!!! Ordered one from Rock auto for $53. So with $36 for next day shipping the total came to $87. By the way the rockauto coupon saved me a whopping $2.69.

I ended up buying one for $40 from a local parts store when mine went out and it's a slow ass turd. It takes 50% longer to roll up than the other windows. Now I'm just waiting on it to go out so I can replace it with a better one.

I found my last one on eBay from parts place in South Dakota for about that same price. I took the standard shipping and it still got here in three days. I was shocked but pretty happy about it.

With the wife starting her new job on tuesday and this being a holiday weekend I needed it ASAP. I don't mind riding the scoot in the rain but I won't ride in Tstorms and we get alot of those through here. The one that broke I bought from Ebay a while ago. I think the problem with the motors is the built in current limiters. Playing around with the broke one it started working again but any slight resistance to the cables and it would stop. Loosen the cables again and it would work. So I currently have the door completely apart to clean all the tracks. Hopefully I get better life out of this one.

I taped mine up and ordered one from Ebay.

And I've done that twice. lol

I've gotten that install time down pretty quick...

If the window gets stuck down a good temp is to manually push the window up into place and put a pair of vice grips on the regulator track to hold it there. The regulator track gets replaced anyways, so any damage is nothing to worry about.

I used a small clamp, but I guess that would work too.

The part should be in today. If not then a temp fix will be in order.

Lovely UPS didn't deliver yesterday. So I have the window clamped in place with a tiny C-clamp. Hopefully there will be a package at the door when I get home tomorrow.

Our regulators are going out like crazy it seems! Bought one from ebay for the passenger side from somebody I think less than a year ago and the motor would go down but not up! Called Morad and got one for $40! A week later, the drivers side starts acting up, still original, so I give Morad a call and get the last one they had for $55! Wasn't thrilled with the price since the opposite side was $15 cheaper, but Erik said that they are the most frequent to go out and they don't have many of them, so I went ahead and got it! Guess since it is a demanded part, the customer will pay a higher price for it, hehe!

Anyways, we normally just shove a cut off broom handle or last time had a piece of pvc pipe cut to length! Never actually thought about vise-grips or clamps, but whatever works, works!!

Got the new one put in last night. Goes down like a dream but a tad slow on the upside. I wonder if once the tracks are bolted in they are a little out of kilter causing some binding.

Make sure the glass is riding in the right grooves at each end. Replacing the regulator allows the window to float around, it's easy to loose the groove at one end or the other.
