Silly question....

I am going to replace my radiator due to a small pin hole leak. While it's out, I want o replace the hoses and T-Stat too.

What temp T-Stat should I go with.
OEM is 195 or 192 right?

So I can get
195
192
180
160

Stay with OEM?

Its colder than stock but not too cold lol :p

If you plan on modding your car you should drop to a 180* because your fans turn on sooner etc. You know the ropes you were at this before I was lol.

Its not advice just a general supporting mod? I guess you could say that haha.

I have a 180* drilled t stat.

But if I don't mod the car, will a 180* still be ok?
I used to have an SE model w/a 3100, so I did all show, no go, lol.

LOL, awesome. 180* it is then.
Hell, I couldn't do anything with the 3100.
I just did a GT bumper cover swap, SS grilles, SD hood (Which bobby has now), dual flowmaster exhaust, lowered, white faced gauges, etc....

Being in Texas, order a GTP radiator. It will drop right in yet give you much better cooling. I ordered a low mileage used one from Ed Morad last winter when demand was low as no one has cooling issues in the winter. My GT ran a lot cooler this past summer. IIRC a GT radiator is 5/8" thick. The GTP is 15/16", that is a 50% increase in capacity.

For best results, get your PCM set to turn your fans on about 190 or get a PCM.

Also, run 70% water/30% coolant with your warmer weather in Texas. The car will cool much better. Add a bottle of redline water wetter which wil help keep the pump seals lubricated due to a lower % of coolant. I have run 80/20 in my summer only chevelle for over 10 years this way.

Thanks for the input chevman. I already bought a new radiator today though from a place the next town over. Went and picked it up this afternoon.
When I searched radiators, it showed a 5/8 and/or a 1 inch core. When I measured, mine was the 5/8, so that's the one I ordered.
I have yet to have a car get hot, even in the Texas heat.
