I made a quick stop to fill my tires with air cause they were running a bit low , i pull onto the road, had to go WOT for about 3 seconds .. after i left 1st gear , i lost 100% of power, seemed like the engine shut off, electronically everything seemed fine .. 2 dash lights came on .. the little oil can that says KPa under it , and the battery light. Lost power steering and assisted breaking, had to pull into another gas station, and shut it off.

Started up rough .. RPMS shot up to 1500 on start up, went back down probably under 500 and almost shut off , but kept jumping up and down for a good 5 minutes, settled down, and I made it home. This is the 2nd time it has happened since i got the car, and ideas what it was ??

Mass Air Flow sensor.

I had the same basic problem, I would have to rail on it onto the highway and after I got off my exit and stopped it would shut off. Start it again and it would idle really really rough. Swapped MAF's and have had no trouble since.

Its malfunctioning at the least. I would try a salvage yard first for one.

doesn't look like you are modded too heavy... you should try just unplugging the MAF sensor and see if that helps.. The car should run without the MAF, it'll just the factory set VE table instead.

If you unplug the MAF and it doesn't get better, then it's a safe bet its not the MAF.

Car will run without it. Next time it acts up unplug the MAF. If the condition gets better you need a new MAF. If no change in the running condition you have a problem else where.

It is attached with torx screws to the top of the throttle body. In the intake is your air temp sensor. The next sensor behind that is your MAF sensor. I'd pull it out and spray it with some electronics cleaner, could just be dirty.

I'm going to have to disagree with car running fine without MAF. Maybe it will when the engine is warm, but mine will not run from a cold start without the MAF.
