srs airbag light wont go off

i have a 98 gtp. and i never had a problem with the srs airbag light going off til i changed the air filter in the car now the light stays on all the time. anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? any help would be appreciated.

could be dtc B1015. high resistance in wire harness to pass air bag. my car did it 1 yr ago. went off after 1 week. came back this week. than went off. i made sure yellow connectors under steering wheel were plugged in tight. heard that a loose connector can cause light.

thank you, i will check it out. if that isnt it. will unhook the battery and hookin it back up fix it?

Unhooking your battery for 20-30 minutes will reset your computer. If there is no issue with your system, the light should go off.
If there is an issue with the system, resetting the computer won't fix it.

Check the SIR fuse with a test light, in the fuse box behind the glove box. A blown SIR fuse will make the light come on steady. Stored airbag trouble codes will also cause the light to stay on.

The only way you're going to know for sure is to have someone scan it that can read SRS codes. Then you'll have a point to begin your search. Otherwise you're shooting in the dark.
