I have a 97 GTP and need to replace maniold gasket (leak), I was looking for parts and came across somthing kinda odd. There are two differant sets, 1st & 2nd generation, the differance being locating pin holes and end caps . Which do I need ? And besides the upper gasket do I need one for the supercharger also? I would appriciate any input from someone who has done this to their car . Thanks, JT

If you were to buy the Fel-Pro PermaDryPlus set (Part # MS98014T) it has both sets of end seals in the box. I just got one yesterday from Rock Auto I would get the supercharger gasket as well.

You need the supercharger gasket with the two orings. It will rip while being replaced.

Oh! Get some plastic coolant elbows. Most autoparts stores carry them, around $4 for both made just for 3800 engines. You will need to replace these, cause chances are yours are broken or you'll break them on removal.

And if you happen to have the belt tensioner where the lower elbow is part of the casting, be very careful when prying/wiggling to remove it, or you'll snap the elbow/casting off and you'll be replacing the tensioner assembly as well.
