Welcome aboard.
The first two performance upgrades - if performance is really what is desired - are a smaller blower pulley and a new intake. I'm running a 3.4" pulley and noticed a nice improvement in power, especially in the 3000-5000 rpm range.
Some guys are running homemade FWIs ( fender well intakes ) with conical K&N filters for less intake restriction - I opted for an even larger cone set behind the headlight. Where I live - Alaska - temperature readings at the filter indicate that as soon as the car moves 50 feet the air inlet temperature is just 7 degrees above ambient, so I don't benefit from a fenderwell intake. I do however benefit from the much larger cone for less restriction ( 75% larger than the FWI cones ). Owners in hotter climes would likely be better off with the fenderwell intakes, as they pick up ambient air all the time.
The stock exhaust is probably fine for minor mods - stock mufflers have been on 12 second GTPS so they will work. The '04s don't have the dreded
U-bend so there is less need to change out the exhaust - except for sound. If you just want louder, then go for it!
