Alrighty folk here is the situation, I want to either copy or just load a movie onto my computer. And the computer keeps telling me it is copyright protected.

Now, you can tell me how what I am doing might be illegal, blah, blah, blah. I bet my paycheck that at least half of you have copied a cd or not payed for the downloaded music on your computer. Am I right?

So I know that there is a way to get around this.

Does anybody know how?

Thanks
Ryan

Oh, and if you are wondering, no I am not going to make 10 million copies and sell them on ebay. I just want somthing on my laptop that I can watch up north.

So how did you do it?

By the way it's only illegal if you copy and sell or give away. You can make back up copys for personal use. smile

A little program called DVDFab which somebody had told me to get before. But it isn't free, unless you have an uncle who know his stuff and burns you a free copy.

Pop in the DVD, either save it to the computer or copy it to a DVD-R and then I flip over the DVD-R and burn a lightscribe label on it.

I use a program called DVD Shrink and it's free. It makes a backup on your hard drive.

Yes, I use DVDFab.

Tbat, the easiest way would be to play the video and do a "print screen", but the quality might be bad.

I have a TV tuner card in my PC and it allows me to take snapshots of video (either live tv, or recorded mpeg2s). But it's the software that came with the tuner card.
