So I was cleaning up the GP and when I was touching the rims up I noticed that there is a crack all the way through one of the spokes of the front right rim. I'm now in need of new rims. (which is a good and bad thing) I would like to try and get the exact size rim so that I could just swap the current tires to the new rims. The problem is I dont know what the width of the rim is. I know that the tire is 235mm wide, 235mm roughly = 9''. I measured the rim and, if I did it correctly the rim is about 8-8 1/2 wide. This is why I'm confused now.

**Note** I purchased the car with the current rims on it.

The size might be stamped on the back side of the rim.
Try taking one off and see if there are any stamps embedded.

you can put a wider tire on a not as wide rim and vise versa but only like a size or two.

Yeah, I've got 245's on my 17" wheels... and I believe mine are 17x7.5

So you should be good to go, as long as you don't get something super wide like 17x9, etc.

Are you getting all four new wheels, or just one to replace the cracked wheel?

I would think that any tire shop can measure it in no time at all.
Next time you're out and you have a minute, stop in one and see if they can measure it for you real quick.

Unfortunately they do not make my rims any more so I'll be getting a new set. Looking at getting some bullits. Seeing T-bat's chrome ones have inspired me and Ebay has some pretty good deals.

What Offset will I be needing is it 35-45 or something in that ballpark? I'd hate to buy a set of rims only to go through the hassel of shipping them back.

I missed the part of custom wheels. Lol.

Usually the size is stamped on the rear.

Just remember if you go with Mustang rims, no wider than 9inch (strut clearance)and stay with the 05-up application to keep the offset you need. I've got 245s onmy 9in wide Bullitts and the sidewalls bow out slightly, so if your sticking with your 235 tires I'd go with an 8in rim max. There are some great deals on Mustang rims on eBay...and the Motegi's look pretty sweet...kind of like the Shelby rims...I looked at black Bullitts and black Mach1 rims before I finally settled on mine...good hunting.
