I posted on OQCGP about doing this but using servo's or a linear actuator. I never ended up doing it but i'm glad to see their is an actual kit out now.
EDIT: I googled it and was looking at more pics and it looks like junk, it doesn't actually flip your plate it's more like a cover that flops down and reveals whatever you have underneath it.
My idea was using a servo or something that actually spins your plate on an axis so it looks stock; plate filler on one side and license plate on the other.

I can't believe they are selling that.
I saw a sweet one on a bad@$$ vette at a audio car show. Was sweet, but it'll get you in trouble if you use it incorrectly.

Cop pull this car without front plate.
Cop: Do you know why I pull you over?

Illegal car: that's bs I do have front plate. See it yourself. (push button) (plate flip over)
Cop: Come with me and I will show you. (walk to front of car) He is ready about point no plate but he saw plate there already... ummm I'm sorry I might got mistake.

All cops can catch speeding cars. They have dozen police cars around. Oh don't forgot you can't run away chopper  Oh that stolen corvette in Arizona got into big truck rip half car body off. I'm sure you remember that. He can't run away from cop with sport car :p

Outrunning a cop isn't terribly difficult if you have a powerful car that you know how to handle, especially if the cop is driving a slow *** Crown Vic. However, like Boosten said, it's outrunning the cops radio that's a problem.
And Chico, I think the police Impalas have V8s in them.
