What does anyone know about this fault? It flashed only one red mark, Last Remenant was virtually non-visible through the heavy green-pixellated display. I already contacted XBox Customer Service. Grr. freakin timing.

Sell it and get a PS3. Then it won't keep breaking. You'll actually have something more than an overpriced paperweight.

Wow.

Just got off the phone with Customer Service, he was nice and professional, with no doubt. Problem is that he was effin we-tah-did. He could not seem to understand "moving out of state soon" and "report date to Kentucky is 10 JUL, warranty expires 17 JUL". I asked if I could send the console now and order a hold-ship until I could give a good Kentucky address. "Not possible sir. You would have to call UPS and tell them the new address, but they would tell you to call us to change the receiving address. We do not change addresses. What address sent the XBox, thats the address that receives the XBox, regardless of whether you moved or not."

Simply because this one facet of MicroSoft seems military-unfriendly, I'm considering not buying anything MicroSoft. Not withstanding that I like XP, Office, the games, and Media Player.

Do civilians actually NOT understand the concept of NOT staying in one place for their entire life? This could NOT be the first time XBox has ever experienced this.

Thanks for the input, Jon.

I will only buy Micro$oft computer parts and that's it. I'm done with their gaming department. Their customer service is the worst!!!! I called them the other day to see if I could transfer my Live account to a friend because I got 2 junk systems and gave up on the 360. I was gonna get $25 buck from my friend for the months that I had left, but Micro$oft said it was not possible for them to transfer the months. So I asked to talk to his supervisor, he left me on hold for 5 minutes and hung up on me. Never ever will I buy a console frome them again!!!! They wouldn't even give me a refund, a waste of $45! Screw Xbox!!! PS3 FTMFW!

Taz, I am beginning to see the light, but the games are SO much fun, and I have a number of them already...we'll see.

4Door: thanks, but I have friends at FCKY that I'm gonna try and use as soon as I get there.

Microsoft's service is terrible. I'm on my 4th console as of yesterday. I had sent in my first one, they took FOREVER to return it so I decided I would just upgrade to the elite when it broke again. Low and behold it happened and I bought the elite, THEN I got a BS overheating light flashing we called microsoft and b**ched them out, they sent us a free game I never sent them my xbox. I had a warranty through circuit city which was still covered by a 3rd party. They sent me a check for $449.99 and so I just bought a new one yesterday and bought they warranty through Best Buy.

They have a rapid exchange deal with microsoft so when it breaks you take it to best buy, they send it to microsoft, and as its being shipped to them, they are already sending you another console and the process takes 3-4 business days.

Anything that helps me from dealing with xbox support directly makes me happy =)

That's weird Rick because I do shipping for a large company for a living, and if our customers called UPS and asked to re-route they would laugh in the customers face. Only the account owner can request the address change, which in this case would be Microsoft.

I got the E74 error message last year on my XBOX. Sent it in and got a brand new one back 2 weeks later. Now, out of the blue, this one refuses to read discs. Sending it back to Microsoft this week.

I will say their customer service is incredibly easily to deal with. Of course they probably spend so much time doing XBOX warranty repairs that they're really good at it by now.
