Well I put my first resume and job application in today in over 20 years. Talk about a nerve racking evolution.

BNSF (rail road company) has four openings just down the street from me as diesle mechanics.

Hopefully I can get it.

man, good luck with that job. It'd be awesome if you had a job waiting for you before you even start terminal leave, man. The husband of one of my cousins works for the railroad as well, and I believe it's BNSF. While the company makes some difference, I do know that he's said that it's a great job to have.

Keep in mind a lot of companies will take an ex-military over a civilian, so I'm sure you'll be a pick.

BNSF is very pro-military. They have a whole section of FAQs just for military to help fill out the application.

They have a ton of job openings with no experience req but alot of them are in far off states in the middle of no where.

Plus now employees must have a TWIC Transportation Workers Identification Card and it requires a pretty in depth background check and me having a current secret security clearance should give me a big leg up.

Did You Know?...a secret clearance is often worth $30,000 and a TS is often worth at LEAST $150,000? Where is it that one can get a clearance at no cost? hmm...I wonder...lol

My resume made the cut. On the 16th I have to go in give a hair sample for drug testing, take an aptitude test and if I pass that then an interview. Fingers are crossed.
