Did they let you land the plane?
The tower said to land on 52-L, not 52-R.

Something about repairs were being done on the runway and the proper notification to the proper peolpe never went out. I think the plane was landing at night when it happened.

I like the second pic the best. It shows a piece of plane flesh ripped off, caught in the teeth of the runway.

The runway was under construction and notices were never put out to the pilots scheduled to land there. The day before a plane was going to land and had to wave off because of the contstruction equipment. The NOTAMS (notice to airmen) were never updated and this unlucky herc was doing a night landing and never saw the equipment. Luckily no one was killed but three people were injured.

a plane crash with only three people injured is amazing in itself...but I think it also goes to show the toughness of the C-130...the same kind of accident would probably have left a commercial airliner in shreds.
