Not DEI. I was thinking Jimmie Johnson, but that won't happen after the crash in qualifying. I'm going to go on a limb and say Elliot Sadler. He and Dale Jarrett run good at this track, but Elliot always seems to finish better than Jarrett (and I never pick the poll winner at a super speedway)

DEI was sandbagging all week. Jr ran like crap in the Shootout, but who finished 1-2 in the 150... DEI.
Jimmie Johnson, as far as I know, will not be affected by the wreck. He will still start 2nd. He didn't have to break out his back up car because he didn't get any damage. The only thing I'd be worried about right now with Johnson is if he spun the tires backwards and they have to change the engine. That will put him at the back of the field. But even if he starts at the back of the field, that's 500 miles befor the finish. He'll make his way up. Jimmie Johnson is the favorite, outside of DEI of course.

I'm more a fan of the sport than I am of any driver. I'd love to see a Dodge win (Rusty Wallace), but there is that question... how many times has Rusty Wallace been airborne going down the backstretch at Daytona? He added more "airtime" during the 150, thanks to Kevin Harvick.
BTW... If you want to see some good racing at Daytona without restrictor plates, watch the truck race tonight on Speed. May be the most exciting race all year. The trucks will run faster that the Busch cars and the Cup cars. They should be right at 200mph down the stretch. Cup cars will be about 185-190.

My fiancee and her sister grew up with their dad going to local race tracks on Friday nights. When we met back in high school I started going with them. She is the reason I got into NASCAR and now our Sundays involve watching every race and calling home to talk smack. My fiancee is a Dale Jarrett fan. Her sister and I are both Ryan Newman fans. My fiancee's brother -in-law is a Kurt Busch fan. For the past 3-4 months he's gotten bragging rights.
