What's a good car for her?
I've been looking at Maxima's, Accord's, Acura TL's, Jetta's.
I think we're going to look at an Acura TL tonight.
Anyone know anything about these?
Do their motors last a long time?

We're trying to stay under $15000/350 month.

From what I hear and see, the Accord's not too bad. Everyone from paper pushers to doctors drive them around here. The newer ones look nice, IMO, and I haven't heard of them having any significant problems. Guess it's a Honda thing. laugh

Those new TLs are lookin' pretty nice too, along with having quite a bit of power. Way out of my league though. lol I don't see many Maximas around here; apparently some recent years had a few MAF problems. Jettas are cute. *grin* Put twin turbo on it and go!

Have you considered a hybrid vehicle such as a 2003 Civic?

Didn't know if you were looking for speed, value, etc. But hybrids are catching on in popularity and a used civic is probably in your price range.

Just a suggestion if you didn't want to go the "traditional" route...

Look for an Infiniti G35. smile All your choices are good but I'd stay away from the VWs reliabilty isn't that great and parts are expensive.

I would love to put her in a G35, but they're a bit out of our range. It'll be something used.

If I should stay away from VW's, should I also stay away from Audi's too?

The wife and I have a general rule. She has no say in my decision when I buy a car, and I have no say in what she buys. Although she is allowing me to actually participate in this. I've already talked her out of another Diamante, and she's been asking me questions all day about different cars. She normally doesn't do this. Usually I just get a phone call and she tells me which dealer to meet her at to sign the papers.
I think she loves me.

I tried to get her to look at a GPGT, but she said no. frown
She's got her eye on a real nice Toyota Avalon.
