Left Sat night got back Monday night, no wives, no kids, just 5 guys who needed to get away from it all. Land belongs to one of my buddies, who was with us, his family has 1800 acres south of Uvalde TX, on the Frio River. 2 houses, the big house (which I didn't get any pics of), 4000 square feet, and a couple miles down is the small house (which we were in), about 1500 square feet. Water was awsome, but down a bit due to droughts. We spent most of the day in kayaks going down the river a bit, then coming back. Mine was the only one with a sealable "cooler" compartment, so I was the "Supply Ship" . We had that full of beer and ice. This place was out in the middle of nothing. Once we got on the dirt road, we must have been on it for a good 45 minutes, and we crossed 2 other properties before we even got to his.

Yes, no women or kids. Although the women and kids will be out there with us on the last weekend of this month. Another gathering is planned, but with the rest of the family members. I can hear it now... "Guys, we need someone to run down to the Wal-Mart real quick... 30-40 minutes away down the dirt road." I already told the wife when we hit the Wal-Mart on the way out there, she'd better plan on getting everything she needs, and even a few items she doesn't need, because there will be no "quick trip to the store" once we get out there.
