Well, sad to say we have her up for sale, we plan to get a Scion Xd as the wife likes them and 37 mpg sounds good! Can't afford both vehicles.

Only 58,700 miles on my 4 door, "Redfire Metallic" paint with Charcoal interior, has brand new 80,000 mile Cooper CS4 touring tires, new front wheel bearings and brake pads. Car is fully loaded, everything works. Runs great, low miles - all highway. All maintenance done regularly, synthetic oil, stored in a temperature controlled garage every night. $7900 OBO, Email me at beatcars@hotmail.com for Pictures.

Options: Air Conditioning, Factory Alarm System, Alloy Wheels, Bucket Seats, Cloth Upholstery, Compact Disc, Cruise Control, Cup Holders, Daytime Running Lights, Driver Air Bag, Dual Climate Control, Front Wheel Drive, Keyless Entry, Passenger Air Bag, Power Brakes,Power Drivers Seat, Power Locks,Power Mirrors, Power Moon Roof, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Defrost, Remote Trunk Lid, Tilt Wheel. --- yer basics for a GT, BUT this car was ordered without Antilock brakes so if you hate antilocks this is the one for ya!

Nope, it was an option in 2003, and still is on some low end cars. 2004 Grand Prix and up have standard ABS.

Be careful when you say import or domestic. Some Hondas, Toyotas and Subarus are more made in USA than Ford and GM. Saturn I believe is the most domestic car made. The Ford Expedition is teh most "domestic" vehicle out there. This chart list most cars\trucks, where they are made and what % is american. This will surprise you. And don't forget, Chrysler\Dodge are owned dy Daimler so the profits go to Germany.

Here is the USA Today article where I got my info, sorry if I was incorrect.

"More than three-quarters of the parts in Dodge's new Nitro SUV, which is assembled in Toledo, Ohio, are American or Canadian. But the profits go to Germany because Dodge is part of DaimlerChrysler. "

Was true at the time, just out of date.

"On August 3, 2007, DaimlerChysler completed the sale of Chrysler Group to Cerberus Capital Management"

OK we forgive you... maybe.

Anyway, on the original topic, I don't see whats wrong with a GT that can get 32-35mpg highway on 87 octane. Thats what I used to get before supercharging.

Is the fuel savings going to outweigh the monthly payment?

I swear the auto industry is making a killing right now because people would rather pay an extra $100 a month on a car payment then $80 a month extra on fuel. Now if people are doing it for enviro reasons etc and not just cause the cost at the pump that's different.
