ok, so i was going to look for a trailblazer ss, but i gave up on that. I dont want to purchase a truck anymore, because that just isnt me. i just cant find it in me to purchase anything else but a GM vehicle. I dont want another 97-03 GP, so I am looking for something in the GXP category.

I found this Bonne GXP and I am thinking about going to look at it sometime tomorrow. I also found a GP GXP and thinking about going to look at it on Friday. Let me know what you think, I was thinking if I liked the Bonne GXP, that I would offer $6500 cash to see if they bite on it.

Heres the Bonne GXP

I would choose Booneville GXP over GP GXP.

From what I heard Bonneville don't have lot of goodies stuffs. But I think you are not going to do any mod stuffs right?

The Bonnie has the Northstar and the GP the 5.3?. Anyways iirc they both have the dreaded 4T65.

Both are PCM torque limited like a mofo to protect the tranny.

Do a little research on the Northstars. Personally I like big cars so if I had to choose out of the two I'd go with the Bonnie. Only thing that gets me is the mileage.

You want to stay GM. From what it looks like you want something with some go V8 and room for you and your friends. Not much choices out there. How about an older CTS? It might only have a six but it scoots pretty good and it does it in style.

I would stay way from the Northstar and the Bonne...I love the look of those cars and I did a lot of reading over at the Bonne forums and they are plagued with issues...you cant even get aftermarket stereos to work in them without serious modifications due to the mounting and electronic integration.

I've driven a couple of GP GXPs and if I could afford another car payment I might have already bought one. They have some issues as well but no more than any other GP. I love the V8 sound and the fact that it has 300hp bone stock. I could throw on an intake and some muffs and be happy with performance. The active fuel management works well so I'm told as long as you dont run 70-75mph...if you do expect mileage to drop.

I've also looked at G6 GXPs and Monte SSw/5.3, which is pretty nice if you like a coupe. The 3.6 in the G6 runs pretty hard.

The GXP's look nice but they have the same tranny as we do and I've heard some bad stories... Now unless you keep the tranny you put in your gp and throw that in a gxp maybe?

Also if I remember right (can't remember where I read it) but the 5.3L was having problems with the active fuel management and I think they were having problems with the pistons due to it.

Dang. I'm glad I posted this! Those r some pretty scary issues. I really don't want to spend more than 10k as I want to pay cash.

I love the bonneville myself but those northstar engines are plague with problems. The gp's are good but I would pass on that just because of the price and you can find something much lower in price if you search around, don't stop at the first thing you see. Keep seaching.

Definitely do your research. I've also heard that Bonnevilles are plagued with issues. As much as I love how they look I'd stay away from them. If you wanna stay with GP's go with the GXP, otherwise there's a lot of great alternatives.

My dad has Pontiac G6. It is 2006 V6 model. No problem on that car. I know some of them don't like G6 but this car is good for daily driving. They think it is like "grand am" lol

Might be able to find a GTO within that price range, a quick autotrader search comes back with 76 listings under $15k. There's a red '04 with 40k miles for $12k.

I don't think he is looking for "sporty" car. Just daily driving. I believe he mentioned that he is done for mod stuffs like save a money. His area is snowing too so I'm sure GTO is out of his car shopping list.
