Door protectors...

How do you go about taking off the door protectors? Not sure if thats what there called or not. The raised portion the runs down the middle of the door to protect them from door dings. Mine are all dinged up and I want to take them off and paint them. Are they glued on or bolted for the inside of the door?

You can take them off but you have to remove the screws from inside the door. Then you have to have the holes filled in.

Have the holes refilled to have the screws rethread the holes?

I think he thought you wanted to take them off and leave them off... if you're putting them back on you shouldn't need to refill any holes

Well I took off the inside door panel last night and there where no screws there. There were 2 plastic posts that were holding the door protectors on. I didnt see any way of being able to take the door protectors off. I only spent about 10 mins w/ it. Im going to have a better look at it today.

Well story remains the same. No screws, Im thinking they ars glued on w/ a body adhesive. Ill probably paint them on the car.

I'm pretty sure there are holes in the doors for them. I saw some one over at clubgp shaved theirs off and it looked nice but iirc they said they had to have the holes filled. Otherwise I woulda removed mine along time ago.

The holes your thinking of are for the plastic posts. All they do is come through the door. Thats why Im thinking there on w/ some kind of adhesive. I may go to the junkyard w/ a putty knife and see what I can figure out. Ill post pics as soon as I start to getting things done. Still looking for all the right paint.
