zzp ss brake line **56k no go** - 02/21/08 10:32 PM

i noticed it on the f/r and thought i might have been tire rub but now i noticed it on the r/l while changing the hub you can see in the one pic it melted some of the plastic, what could be causing this?

The pic is so small you can't tell, but it might not be melted. The braided hose might contact it during driving and the vibration made it act like sandpaper.

Stanless steal will not rust, but will discolor with heat. Does it apear they have been rubbing the tires? Looks like its just heat causing the color issue.

it could be dirt and grime in there you should take a piece of garden hose and zip tie it to the line that is getting rubbed on

The discoloring is from the heat of the brake fluid. The rest looks like rubbing. You can get two pieces of rubber hose. Slice down one side and place one piece on the brake line and another piece on the other part. Last long time.

i might just do that im getting the fbody kit

calipers-128
pads, i went with ebc redstuff, 130ish
d/s rotors hat painted black from rotorpros-210

and im hoping to find a powder coater in the area to paint the calipers and brackets black

so since i need to bleed the fluids to change the calipers, whats the advantages of dot 5?

I wish I would of knew that before I painted my rims but I would still ask for some stuff in the future if I ship them to you. How much for calipers would you charge to powdercoat them white. Or how much would you charge to powercoat some rims black.
