my wife was making fun of me last night , she said that would make us all T-shirts like the ones of a bowling team...

Re: Club Decal's - 05/10/04 11:27 AM

That would be cool. Currently I have a ClupGP decal across the top of my windscreen and a small clubgp decal above my rear liscence plate.

Re: Club Decal's - 05/10/04 12:05 PM

A license plate frame would be cool

Re: Club Decal's - 05/10/04 12:11 PM

We should all submit a design and then pick the best one!

Re: Club Decal's - 05/10/04 02:33 PM

I vote for the logo in the top left corner, Grand Prix Net with the nose of the GP under it.

i think alot of memebers here know what type of logo i would submit with a tastefull gp type sticker. hammer notice 4T8 running away covering his head wile the hammer`s are flying towards him. lol

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 02:38 AM

I'll be happy to whip up a few designs this weekend when I'm off from work. I'll get on paint shop and see what I can come up with...and call me crazy but I think the shirt thing would be cool, especially when you go to something like GM weekend at Carsile (or however the heck you spell that place in Pennsylvania!)...I'll post some stuff soon...but I do like the idea of the top corner logo. that would look way cool on the back of a jacket or shirt!

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 07:21 AM

Let's see what you got BATMAN.
Posted by: AustinGTP

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 09:29 AM

What about the logo at the top left on the front of the shirt (right side chest or "pocket"), and the logo of the GP with Grand Prix Net above it, on the start up page (shot of the front right corner of the GP), on the back of the shirt.
Hell, I'd buy 2!

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 11:36 AM

I like the T-shirt idea with a GTP and the saying under it would say...( Happiness is Being Blown)
Posted by: Chico

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 12:10 PM

Everybody in the club doesn't drive a GTP this is a GP site.
Posted by: Javier

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 12:12 PM

we could have two versions of it. One for GTP and one for GT's.
Posted by: Chico

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 12:22 PM

Then you'd need them for gtx& se I think it should be club specific not model specific let's see some design's and who would make them?
Posted by: AustinGTP

Re: Club Decal's - 05/11/04 01:09 PM

Might as well go all the way and make 2-doors and 4-door.

then what about options, leather/cloth bose/delco

Re: Club Decal's - 05/12/04 06:19 AM

I just realized its gonna be kinda hard for everybody to see the designs when Angelfire has decided to get shitty about remote linking images.
I keep getting that little "Image hosted byAngelfire" thing instead of my sig image.
I suppose I can post them on a seperate page and then post a link here so everyone can see them.
As far as getting shirts produced, most every place that does this kinda work is gonna charge for having to render the art so they can make screens to print. every where I know of charges a minimum of $50 art rendering fee....most more than that. but once thats out of the way you can crank out lots of shirts.

HP Photo did the same, but as you can see my sig pic still shows. I want to change it but I can't.

Is that more or less what u guys are looking for?
or is it too simple?

Yeah, looks good. How about the logo in the top left corner on the left front of the shirt (where your name is).

Brian,
You're the boss here, what kind of thoughts have you had on doing some T-shirts and decals?

...and BTW, I still think the logo in the top left corner would look good on the front left of the T-shirts.

Re: Club Decal's - 05/14/04 11:42 PM

I guess there's not enough interest to get a simple club decal maybe the GP store might be able to help?

Re: Club Decal's - 05/15/04 02:14 AM

I'm gonna check with this guy here in Hopewell VA that did silk screen shirts for the band and color guard when my daughter was in high school. He does a lot of work for local racers and such. I drew 4 different designs for the color guard girls back then and he rendered them into computer images and made the screens from that. I can easily download the upper left image and copy it (if there is no copyright infringment involved) I'll do those paint shop designs this weekend (if I can stay out of the car long enuff!)

Re: Club Decal's - 05/15/04 02:56 PM

One way or another I'd like to see it happen, I want a T-shirt, or 2, and a decal, or 2. I think we should get in touch with Brian and see what his thoughts are on this. If it's not anything that he is willing to do and we decide to do this on our own, I think we'll need to atleast get Brians permission to use his logos.
Posted by: 4 T 8 states

Re: Club Decal's - 05/15/04 03:34 PM

yeah... asking brian for permission would be wise to say the least.

who is gonna be in charge of puchasing?
how high in quality are we willing to go?
whos gonna make `em
how much are they gonna cost?

just bringin up ???? so we can get ball inflated if not rollin hammer with my new decal in the back window.
Posted by: BryantGTP

Re: Club Decal's - 05/15/04 05:56 PM

I love that shirt that Javier designed. If Brian doesn't want dibs on it, hopefully he'll let us use the design.

I think $15 to $20 is a good price range to get some decent shirts made up. Between those prices you'll get some good quality shirts that aren't gonna fall apart once in the wash.

Re: Club Decal's - 05/16/04 09:44 AM

OK guys, here's my first shot for a shirt back design...I like the concept of the upper left corner on the front chest...btw, anybody got a larger image of that logo? I tried downloading it but its so small it pixelates very bad when I tried to enlarge it.

Re: Club Decal's - 05/16/04 01:51 PM

Looking good hope his idea flies . cool
Posted by: ThunderBat

Re: Club Decal's - 05/16/04 05:31 PM

this would be a good design for a black shirt since it would only require two ink colors. This guy I know here can do the fade on the lettering. He did it on one of the color guard shirts and it looked way cool...btw, Chico...I checked out your pic slideshow...I love that freakin engine bay! I'll work on another design before I go back to work Tuesday...later fellas...gotta hammer

I seem to have misplaced this guys business card somewhere...but thats ok cuz I know where he lives! (his shirt shop is right in back of his house) I'll print out the 2 designs I've done...if someone wants to email me the other one I'll print that one too...and I could really use the upper left logo...I'll show this stuff to him and try to get a ballpark figure of the $$$...that is if all this is cool with the site admin???
Posted by: Chico

Re: Club Decal's - 05/18/04 07:16 AM

I'm surprized there hasn't been some input from site administrator's yet hate to go to all this bother and then have it squashed because of some infringment deal before we procede I think it would be prudent to get permission.

Re: Club Decal's - 05/18/04 10:09 PM

Are these 'window stickers' going to be the same for all cars ie we arent going to give everyone member numbers? This could be done relatively cheap from my experiance with vinyl. Especially if we order 30 or more. Depending on size and design could be as cheap as 3 bucks each or all the way up to 10 bucks for a windshield banner just depends on what everyone wants
Posted by: ThunderBat

Re: Club Decal's - 05/18/04 11:01 PM

I just recieved a reply from an email that I sent to the site admin and he said that he was out of the country until June 1...so I guess we can gather all the info we wants until then.

I’m a big baseball cap guy.. I think a cap with the logo that the new gp have on the steering wheel would look nice in a cap.

Re: Club Decal's - 05/19/04 02:50 PM

I called the guy in Hopewell today to get some ballpark figures on how much these things might run...his answering service said he would not be back in the office until May25...I guess everybody is on vacation...oh well, until then we can hammer jus cuz its still spring!

Re: Club Decal's - 05/20/04 09:08 AM

hey I was just thinkin (imagine that!)...if its OK with everybody, I can whip up a front left chest pic using the front of that GP in my second design...I could prolly even change the blackout head lights back to bright if everyone would prefer it that way...seems easier than waiting around for a larger image...plus I have it on my hard drive for printing this way...lemme know if this is alright with every one...and can someone email me a copy of the first design...the one on the white background...I ferget who did it shocked

Re: Club Decal's - 05/25/04 04:54 PM

hey guys, I stopped by the Tshirt guys' house on the way in to work this afternoon. He looked at both of the designs and said I would need to do some simplifying to make it more affordable and easier to print for quality. I figured this would probably be the case. He has to convert the image to a vector instead of a jpeg or bitmap so he can break it apart for the different color screens he will need. I think we can come up with a design that will be very close to what I started with. At any rate, I'll post a finished image when we get one. He also told me that printing on black shirts is more $$$ cuz everything has to be underscreened with white so the black fabric doesnt bleed thru the color. He said we could print on white, ash gray or another light color shirt cheaper...He requires a 24 shirt minimum order, but the bigger the order the better the price break...I'm sure there is going to be an art fee for rendering the images but that can easily be spread out...same deal there, more shirts, less cost...when I get the go-ahead from the site admin (after June 1st I guess)...then I can get some hard numbers...has anybody else gotten any info on the window decals?
Posted by: AustinGTP

Re: Club Decal's - 05/25/04 04:59 PM

T-bat, thanks for taking this and running with it.
Posted by: ThunderBat

Re: Club Decal's - 05/25/04 06:38 PM

Its no sweat guys, this is the easy part...just like when I did it for the color guard girls...the tuff part always comes in when the $$ get involved...I wont mind doing some up front costs to get the ball rolling but then it'll be tougher cuz I dont have a PayPal account (dont really need or want one) so we'll prolly have to do this by money orders...since I'm the only one this guy sees and he's not a big national supplier, He's gonna just wanna deal with me and let the rest be my responsibility (he did the same with the school shirts) mostly because he expects payment when his job is done (can't blame him there)...if we can get enuff folks on board up front who are willing to pay in advance then we'll be in good shape...if not, then it'll die cuz I'm not in the finance arena (wish I had those kinda bucks...oh yeah!)...but with all the members on this board I dont think this is gonna be a problem (cuz the folks on this board rock!)...which is why I wasnt afraid to start running with this to begin with laugh so we keep hammer til we get some cool shirts to go with these bad azz cars we drive thumbsup

Re: Club Decal's - 05/30/04 12:44 AM

hey guys, the T-shirt dude said the design I did would have to be simplified in order to be screen printed...I had said in an earlier post that I was gonna re-do an image for the left chest. I took the front of the GP in my "hammer" design and re-drew it for a multi color print. I tried to save some of the contours with two-tone reds. So fire away and let me know what you think.
Posted by: ThunderBat

Re: Club Decal's - 05/30/04 12:52 AM

As far as the decals go, I think just some lettering (maybe in the same font as the nameplates on our cars) that simply says "GRANDPRIX.NET"...about 8inches long or so, in a few different colors so everybody can get one that works with the color on their ride.
A guy over on w-body.com is doing pretty much the same deal for about $6 per decal (including shipping).

Re: Club Decal's - 05/31/04 12:39 PM

Okay this is the deal with my decal guy look on my picture site and you will see a 28" decal this size would cost 10usd and the white lettering can have a red outline shipping would be $7.00 for the 8" smaller decal's would be $5.00 ea. and $3.50 shipping now he want's a minimum order of 100 of the small ones I think this is a pretty fair deal i had this guy make up decals for my hyway rig 4 years ago and they are still in great shape if you guy's want to go ahead with this i have a paypal acc. and am willing to do the leg work .the only thing holding us up is permission from the site adminastration i'm not making any profit on this but i'm not going ahead without permission.

Minimum of 100? You'll definetly want to get Brian in on this because we won't be able to move all of those with just the posters here.

100 small decals is only 50 guys no big deal 2 per person if we can't handle that why bother anyway that's the prices it's up to you guy's let me know .it doesn't have to 100 all at once i'm surehe'll fill the orders as they come .

yo Chico, jus checked out the decal design...look very cool to me...my only tiny point (and this is no biggie at all) the website name has no space between "grand" and "prix"...but it does on the car...either way works for me...I like the flags, they add a racey touch...that sucker would look tuff as a windshield banner (I guess the bigger size decal you mentioned could be placed in the center of the windshield)...but thats a moot point in VA cuz I think windshield decals are illegal here...anyways, I'm in!

I would like to purchase a smaller one if this gets approved i may pick up a few if they are only 10bucks or less like i saw. I have a local shop that cuts window banners 10 a pop minimum 25 bucks... So sounds like some of the prices you got for 7.50 where good.

Hi Timmy:

I would be ok with this as long as you used the same font and graphic
from the site for the wording. If you want t-shirts you guys would be
on your own...decals would be best from some place like Kinkos I think.
I could check on license plate frames if you wanted...

Sorry I didn't see that - I was out of the USA until just last night
since May 13.

Thanks.

Re: Club Decal's - 06/04/04 01:35 AM

I heard back from Brian again and he would like me to modify the back design I did for the shirt. He says using the word "cuz" is slang and not the image we want to promote for the site. I can easily see his point...I offered either "grand prix owners club" or "grand prix enthusiasts" as alternatives or another phrase of his choosing...or we dont have to have a bottom phrase at all. The T-shirt guy also contacted me and asked me to come over and help finalize the designs. He also told me its going to cost a lot extra to print on black shirts because of an extra underlayer of ink. If we just go with white and ash color shirts (maybe one other color, TBA) we can save some bucks (which sounds good to me) Brian was also going to send me some fonts to use. Hopefully I'll have all this design/color/lettering thing wrapped up next week sometime. I'll post a final design before we go forward with printing (I'll want Brian's stamp of approval as well)...should also have some $$ figures by that time as well...I'm also gonna check into this PayPal acct thing...so I can order a decal set and I guess we can use it for the shirt thing as well...it should make things easier if folks can use their credit/debit cards.
more info soon guys!

Re: Club Decal's - 06/04/04 02:16 AM

VERY IMPORTANT, will you all take a cashiers checks???? I know paypal charges heft for a debit credit transaction and with this being such a small amount i would rather just mail you what i want with a money order. I say money order because it is less worry for you on your end becausse you dont' have to worry about a check......just let me know...

Re: Club Decal's - 06/04/04 08:44 AM

Good job T.
I'm fine going with the ash or white, but if the demand is strong enough for the black, count me in for the black.
Can we go with a combination of T-shirt colors for the entire order, or is it on an order basis.

Re: Club Decal's - 06/04/04 08:10 PM

I think I'm probably gonna have to do a pre-order kind of thing to make sure we can get the minimum quantity that he requires...we could do it by PM and then I could post when we've made the numbers we need...then he can go with the printing and then we can get into the money end of things...does anyone have a preference for the bottom tagline? either one of the examples in the previous post or another...or do we just go with a blank bottom?..."Grand Prix Owners Site" might be cool.

Re: Club Decal's - 06/05/04 12:25 AM

hey Chico, Brians email to me said he wanted to use the same fonts as the site uses...he also said he could check on license plate frames...and the font that matches the lettering on our cars is called "sofachrome"...I found it free on a site called 1001fonts.com

Re: Club Decal's - 06/05/04 07:52 AM

Hey bat i can get the font's changed no problem since i can't get an answer from Brian do you think we are good to go, they would be white with a red outline or just white your choice now the flags would come with them but you don't have to use them i would sure like to get some kind of comfirmation to proceed?
Posted by: ThunderBat

Re: Club Decal's - 06/05/04 07:59 AM

Brians emails to me said nothing about not proceeding...he just wants to make sure that we promote the best image for the site (I guess we are kinda advertizing)...He just wants us to stick with names and images that are easily recognized I think...you can email him direct at
brian@pfyc.com...he was very good about getting back to me quickly...zap him a line and show him what ya got...I think he'll be pleased.

Re: Club Decal's - 06/05/04 01:30 PM

I got the same basic reply as you as long as the font and graphics are the same i'll call the guy and make sure he can supply this i also think it will be simpler if we just go with the 8" GRAND PRIX. NET in sofachrome font.
Posted by: Chico

Re: Club Decal's - 06/05/04 01:44 PM

Okay i just talked to the guy and he can do them in that font so i guess we are set to go they will be $5 ea plus $3.50 shipping the 8" is the only choice and the colour is white he's going to e-mail a picture but they will be basicly the same except the font will be different from the first pictures .
