well my car is acting up STILL.....and the code it is throwing now is P0306(cylinder 6 is misfiring)....how do i go about fixing that!?

could be spark plugs or spark plug wires

first things first: check to make sure your wires have a good TIGHT connection

ya they al have a tight connection....last weekend i replaced the front sparks and this weekend im gonna change the back ones....im sad because i try to drive it and i wont go ne where....ill push the gas but i wont move...

Try swapping coil packs and see if the misfire follows it.

another free diagnosis. seems like a single misfire wouldnt cause the car to not move at all. Im thinkin theres something else

o no .. is your tranny going bad just like everyone else's

i dont think so because when i do get acceleration it shifts just fine.....

We've talked. He has some things he is going to mess with I suggested, I know about some of his issues more than he has described to yall. Hopefully he tends to those asap.

Well he only changed front spark plugs. Hasn't done the rear. Misfiring on cyl 6. Has had the car since like July of 07, no maintenance. Hasn't inspected fuel filter, who knows if that was ever changed.
Needs to do a tune up basically.

ahhhh. ok. I thought "other issues" meant that his car spit out the PCV or his ALT burned up or something.

well guys im gettin the car fixe this week...i should have it back by like thursday....i took it to a mechanic last night and this morning they ran the diagnostic check and it came up as a clogged cat.....they said its only getting about 20% airflow.....they wanted to charge me 700 to replace the cat and O2 sensors so i did a little calling around....i found out that my car still has the origianly mannufactures emission 8yr/80,000 mile warranty on it so im gonna have it towed to the dealership and have the cat and O2 replaced for free!!!!

Cat would do it! Do the tune up anyways!

My car was throwing that code around 7months ago...I did change my wires, and went away. But I've noticed for awhile if I give my car too much gas...it seems like something is holding it back....I might have to get the cat checked..

I did mention something to 01gt about his Cat, but I figured he had plugs and fueling issues to deal with first.

If all they did is a diagnostic check (OBDII) they lied about diagnosis and were guessing. A cat will never show up in the computer and the only way to check it is to check exhaust pressure through the O2 sensor bung before the cat.

Anyway, $200 max for a stock cat and installation. $700 is pure ripoff. Don't go back to that shop for future diagnosis or anything, they're just after money.

lol idc about the price of the diagnosis my parents paid for it cuz they were sick of hering me complain about not having a car to drive so my mom was like just take the thing and ill pay for the diagnosis.....but ya im not getting it done there...like i said in my loong paragrah im having it towed to bob tolkan tomorrow and there going to do another diagnosis to see for themselves and then were gonna go from there.....
