It can be done but it need to drill the hole for put black rail for hold side skirt & door molding.

I brought side skirt & door molding for 26 buck. No joke. It was in my local junk yard. Great steal laugh

I have hard time to get metal rail out of junk yard car. It was rusty bad so I buy black rail with damage red side skirt for 50 buck from clubgp sale section. The door rails are free from my local area seller when I brought his old leather door panel. Nice of him.

That's all part you need. Of course red side skirt is out since it was damaged.

I will have them install on Spring 2010. Getting closer laugh

I love junkyards. You can find the greatest things there.

Maine didn't have any "u pull it" type junkyards. You had to know exactly what you wanted and ask the clerk for it.

So no "treasure hunting" as I like to refer to it.

Got em in TX though wink Last place I went to wanted $50 a pop for nasty delaminated taillights. frown Thought I could grab em for $10 and try modding em some how.

At my local junkyard there are probably almost a hundred GP's or so.

They're double stacked though so a lot of them are pretty damaged.

Re: GT Side Skirts - 02/06/10 07:55 PM

Sorry for delay... Hope someone help you. If not.

Just pull door molding from "top" which it hold 3m tape. I did pull them off carefuly because the "bottom" is holding the with black rail from door. After top are gone from 3m tape. Just pull it up away from black rail. Do 3 repeat steps each doors.

The side skirt have 4 screws. 2 rear & 2 front. Just remove them out. Then slide it out easy which it was holding under metal rail. Then do repeat other side of car. That's pretty much what I did in junk yard.

I never remove side skirt metal rail myself because it was on rivet bolt which I can't do anything for how to get them out. Got good shape side skirt metal rail which it is from red side skirt from clubgp sale. Morad actually have LOT of them but some rusty and bang up. Not sure if you like that.

Oh I forgot black metal rail on the doors. Since you will go junk yard. Just torn of door panel out like you don't give darn about that lol. You will see white clip inside of door frame. Just push them out so it will come out of door easy. Front doors have 5 clips. Rear doors have 4 clips which you can see my picture as example.

Good luck. thumbsup

Re: GT Side Skirts - 02/06/10 11:20 PM

Did I remember you make thread about your side skirt was "sagged"? That's why your metal rail is gone that your side skirt was hanging loose.

I remember clubgp did use 3M tape instead metal rail on his SE model. That's few years ago when I asked question. I don't remember his name since then.

Re: GT Side Skirts - 02/07/10 04:30 PM

Let me throw red side skirt out. I took metal rail support out of damage red side skirt. That's how they look like without side skirt.

Slide that metal rail into silver side skirt.

There is new picture what you need instead red side skirt from my previous post.

Behind the lower door molding. That's how they hold on bottom from metal rail. As you can see 3M tape on top which I pull it off.

I took picture of my local Ohio meeting as test/example what my car supposed to look like.
