well last night i got a little ambitious and decided to clean my engine. I took some simple green put it into a spray bottle and just starting spraying and wiping. Man it is amazing how well that stuff works. I know its not a professional clean but hey i thought it looks good. I know there are plenty of spots i missed. Quick question for you guys, how do u remove the engine cover? i would like to take that off so i can clean a little better.

Here are pics,

Looks good.
Did you remove the engine cover? Those spots that you couldn't get to can be gotten to. Pass side, remove the cross brace then remove the single bolt that holds the filler tube for the washer bottle and you should be able to get in there a little better. Same for the drivers side, remove the cross brace to get in there better. And you could also take advantage of having the cross braces removed, and paint them.

Gosh, i havent had my engine cover on in so long, i might have forgotten.

I believe you remove the oil neck thing from the front valve cover and then slide the cover out from underneath a bracket on the rear of the motor

Hah, same here, I sold mine long ago... who would wanna cover up that beautiful supercharger? I even removed all the brackets that hold it on, to clean up the engine bay a little more wink

But he's exactly right, that's how you take it off. Looks pretty good man

Hmm, I take mine off all the time...

Oh wait, I'm N/A!

Yeah, just unscrew the oil neck, reach the the back of the cover, push it down so it's not catching the metal hook, slide the whole cover toward the car and the toward the hood, give it a little twist off the valve cover and you're good.

No point in holding the heat in the engine.

How come mine has an extra step? I have the little nut on top of the cover that also holds it down to the Supercharge!!! Boo Whooo.

That's not an extra step, I think they all just forgot about it. lol

I was reading all of them, wondering, why aren't they mentioning that?
