97 GT top swap - 11/14/11 05:50 PM

I plan on topswapping my 97gt. now im aware of the transmission difference (4t60e and 4t65e). will i be able to run a supercharger and have my trans (4t60e) shift right? (because of vaccume powered trans)

Yes it will work fine, just make sure to feed the vacuum line for the trans from on top of the supercharger, this way it doesn't see boost.

If he wasn't talking from experience/knowledge, then he wouldn't even know crap about what you just asked.
Basically saying he couldn't b.s. that answer.

Re: 97 GT top swap - 11/14/11 10:54 PM

It will work.

98-03 Gen 3 blowers only have the vacuum tee with 3 nipples on the top, big nipple is for brake booster, middle port is for HVAC, vacuum ball etc, the last port goes to the top of BBV. These are all vacuum only sources. Tee the trans vacuum line into the middle HVAC port. DO NOT tee off the MAP/LIM/FPR/BBV line located under the snout of the SC and wraps around both front and back of the SC. These are boost reference lines.

If you get a supercharger from a 97 GTP, they have an extra vacuum tee on the front of them. This is not a vacuum only source, this front tee sees boost as well and feeds the FPR and bottom of the BBV. Again, only use the middle HVAC port on the top of the SC.
