ABS light - 12/23/12 01:21 AM

I've noticed the last few days my ABS light come on along with my traction control off light from time to time. Sometimes it happens when I start the car, randomly when I'm driving, and sometimes when I hit some bumps.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check the wiring harness coming off of your wheel hubs. It is a common problem that the wires burn up/crack/rub through and doesn't send a wheel speed back.

Unfortunately you have to replace the whole wheel hub if you want to fix the problem. Sometimes the wires will crack near the middle but more often they snap right at the hub so you don't have room to solder them back together.

wouldn't the car need the wheel speed for the speedometer that works fine? Two different wheel signals?

It uses the wheel hub sensors for ABS to detect if one is spinning or locking up etc.
