Brakes - 10/03/07 12:13 PM

I will be changing my brake pads for the first time on my 03 GT. Are they pretty straight forward on these? I had a Fiero once that required teh rear calipers be turned in with a tool instead of compressed in order to fit the new pads. Any recommended pads? Ceramic?

Also how the heck can I search on this site? Can't seem to find a search function anywhere.

Yup, pretty straight forward. Calipers piston will need to be compressed in order for the new pads to fit.
Ceramics will be the best choice.

At the top of the page you'll see 3 buttons, "New Topic", "Post a Poll", "Post Reply".
Look directly under the "Post a Poll" button and you'll see a link labeled "Search".

yep I did them myself about a year ago and its needs changing now but if I car do it you can do it as well and I used a c clamp to compress the caliper and everything else is straight foward just like austin said.

Ceramics are your best bet if you don't want to deal with brake dust. If you want real good stopping power, then semi-metallics are the answer BUT you WILL succomb to noise.

Thanks everyone. Yep I bought ceramics, Autozone even lifetime warrantees them, even for regular for wear. Cool!
