Replacement Stock Tires

Replacement Stock Tires - 05/12/02 06:59 PM

I noticed quite a few posts regarding larger tire replacements; but I'd like to just get a good set of summer tires and keep my stock rims. And since I live in TX, there really is no need for all season tires.

Looking at tirerack.com, the 2 best choices seem to be the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 or the Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP. Has anybody tried these tires in stock size, 225/60-16, on the GP? Or have any other sugg. for good 16" summer tires?

Thanks,

My 16's have snow tires on them because I live in Beutiful Minnesota, but if you want to stay with your stock 16's you can still go to a bigger size like a 245/50/16 and you would still have a nice selection of tires. -Dont know if you know or care but just my 2 cents.

I had the Falkex ZIEX-502s in 245/50zr16 and they were awesome.
