If you can't find it locally, there's always Ebay: VHT Nite Shades The only down side, of course, is the shipping charges... wink

The only problem you'll have for tinted tails is if your tails are blacked out and no light can be reflected or seen.

Abercrombie, I would think that if for some reason you do get pulled over and get a fix it ticket for it, some paint remover would take that stuff right off.

Agreed! I want people to see me as much as possible. I love my car and don't want to give anyone an excuse to hit me. thumbsup

Re: tinted tail lights? - 04/11/07 12:27 PM

When done correct, the tinted tails have minimal light loss. I don't see anymore than a couple of coats (tack coat and a cover coat), and a final clear coat, should be all that's needed.
I've seen a couple of F-body's going around with tinted tails and I can see their brake lights with no problems, and in the bright sun.
If I had an extra set of tail lights I'd have some tinted tails, done the right way.

I do understand what you guys are saying about the whole safety factor. There's no way I'm going to disagree about anything that doesn't put safety first.

Re: tinted tail lights? - 04/26/07 01:07 AM

If you do'nt overdo it Niteshades workes quite well 2coats and 2 coats of clear, your lights are quite visible with this formula and it gives a nice tint.Chico.

Re: tinted tail lights? - 04/27/07 05:07 PM

Would the niteshades work with Headlights as well, and how dark could I get my taillights without it blocking out the light, I think black taillights would look nice with my car as would black head and corner lights....I just don't have the money to buy aftermaket pieces.

Re: tinted tail lights? - 04/27/07 06:09 PM

You can get the rears pretty dark and still have some good light output. As for the fronts. The light output is already horrible and you wannna make it worse? Besides I believe since covers are illegal for night use that painting your headlights would be as well.

Re: tinted tail lights? - 04/27/07 07:06 PM

Alright good point. Guess I'll just try to scrape up some money for the black headlights and corner lights I saw on ebay or just get the clear corners.
