I remember Bobby mentioning something about the longer brake lines possibly rubbing the back of the tire after you let the car back down on the pavement...so give those tires a big hug or put the car on some drive-up ramps to make sure you have clearance.

Re: zzp brake line - 11/23/07 05:06 PM

what did they make the lines too long? like im confused some say that the stock ones are too short so i thought the longer ones were supposed to help out? grrrr

Just be sure to run them so they won't rub the tires.

Stock ones are not too short if you orient them the right way. I had issues with them possibly being short, but I got them eventually

Replacing brake lines is a giant PITA in some vehicles. Not really looked at mine in the GP, but seems a lot of folks are replacing them. Easy, medium, or a hard job?

I'm doing brakes and struts this winter, would that be a good time to do the brake lines, too?

Fortunately, my g/f knows how to bleed the air from brake lines. That's not fun trying to do it by yourself, in case you've ever tried. hammer

Re: zzp brake line - 11/25/07 03:12 PM

Shouldn't be too hard; just be sure the bleeder screws break free first, or you'll be replacing calipers as well. wink
