tranny... - 05/20/07 11:33 PM
well i totally forgot about my 98 grand prix in the driveway that is im calling it quits on and working on the 97... so i was thinking how hard is it to get the tranny out? the hd tranny kit from zzp how hard is that to install or how much do you think to get the tranny fixed up?
Uh... I would pay someone to do tranny work... I consider myself quite competant mechanically but I would never pull the trans on my own. Too many things that I have no idea about that I could mess up.

Drummer, you were a few steps from pulling the tranny when your engine was yanked. You only have to disconnect the axles, shifter cable, tranny lines, and it comes out. This is assuming the engine is removed or has been prepped for removal.
I'm almost there... got another car I'm repairing brake lines on today instead.
Well... I guess I should rephrase that. I would not have a problem with pulling the tranny... I just would not tear it apart.
